I'm delighted to announce the first official public release of A Space Story. This project has been a labor of love, building a custom engine using Odin and WebAssembly, and today marks the moment it leaves the hangar for the first time.
What is A Space Story?
At its core, A Space Story is a real-time strategy and simulation game. You are tasked with managing a remote space station. Your primary goals are to:
- Manage Resources: Oversee a fleet of miners as they harvest valuable minerals from nearby asteroids.
- Defend the Base: Deploy and command defenders to protect your infrastructure from hostile factions and space-borne threats.
- Expand and Research: Upgrade your station's capacity and research new technologies to survive the harsh vacuum of space.
Early Development Status
It is important to note that the game is in very early development. While the core gameplay loop—mining, defending, and basic station management—is fully playable and functional, you might encounter placeholder assets and balancing that is still being tuned.
